Monte Generoso for the Disabled

The Monte Generoso Railway is the only one in the world with two vehicles specially constructed for the transport of wheelchairs for the disabled and their carers.

At the top, everything is organised for a comfortable stay

• Lift in the restaurant
• Panoramic terrace and restaurant are suitable for wheelchairs
  
• 500 metre Asphalt path, eminently suitable for wheelchairs
• Appropriate WC, specially reserved for the disabled

The Monte Generoso Railway has:

• 2 carriages especially designed and built for transporting disabled persons in wheelchairs (from 3 wheelchairs)
  
• Each carriage has room for 8 wheelchairs and seats for 4 carers
• The two carriages can be coupled at any time to normal trains in circulation
• Please notify us at least two days in advance
• The railway staff is trained to help disabled persons and their equipment get into the train even when the appropriate carriage has not been
  reserved.
• With a wheelchair of max. 60cm width it's possibile to travel in the normal carriage
